Wideband speckle spectroscopy based on the shift-and-add method

Abstract

We propose a method for speckle spectroscopy in which objective prism spectra of astronomical objects are reconstructed from dispersed speckle data by using the shift-and-add method. The method is only applicable at high light levels. Because the shift-and-add method is applicable to white-light speckle images, wideband speckle spectroscopy is feasible. Some laboratory experiments confirm the usefulness of the shift-and-add method for speckle spectroscopy.
