Abstract

Three methods of controlling the polarization sensitivity of close-spaced fused-fiber wavelength-division multiplexers are analyzed. Resin-packaged, optimum-fusing, and twist-tuning techniques are compared. The twist-tuning technique is shown to be the favored method.
