Frequency-doubling pulse compressor for picosecond high-power neodymium laser pulses

Abstract

We have measured as much as an approximately fivefold compression and 240% power conversion when type II frequency doubling is used with 1.2-ps Nd laser pulses and a 1.4-ps predelay is introduced between the e and o pulses at the input of a KDP crystal.
