Abstract
Sum-frequency and second-harmonic quasi-phase-matching gratings were simultaneously optically encoded in a barium oxide–doped silica bulk glass by irradiation with the first, second, and third harmonics of a Nd:YAG laser operating at 1.064 μm. The χ(2)(−3ω; 2ω, ω) of the sum-frequency grating and the χ(2)(−2ω; ω, ω) of the second-harmonic grating were 2 × 10−17 and 5 × 10−16 m/V, respectively.
