Abstract

30-fs pulses at 1.22 µm are produced by a self-mode-locked Cr:forsterite laser and amplified in a Cr:forsterite regenerative amplifier by a chirped-pulse amplification technique. 54-fs, 1-GW pulses at a 1-kHz repetition rate are obtained.
