Abstract
A new type of a resonator defined by two or more mode-converting gratings in a waveguide is proposed and analyzed. It is shown that the proposed structure can exhibit narrow resonances similar to Fabry–Perot cavities but has an advantage of being a four-port device and thus is capable of serving as an add–drop filter.
