Abstract
Broadband, compact in-fiber polarizers were fabricated using a pulsed laser to modify the air holes along one side of the hollow-core photonic bandgap fibers. The polarizers have lengths from 3 to and exhibit a polarization extinction ratio of better than over a wavelength range larger than at approximately .
